"You are good. But it is not enough to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute good to the world.
The world must be a better place for your presence. And the good that is in you must spread to others."

Masters, Noses, Pizzas and Whipped Cream

I have exciting news! We paid off one of our credit cards last night! $1812.15 closer to being debt free! Anyway...

I love "Les Miserables" and have before this new one came out on Christmas day. I've listened to "Les Miserables" since I was my daughter's age. However, after seeing the new version of this incredible musical last week, I now listen to the soundtrack every morning. It just starts my day off right. This morning as "Master of the House" was playing, Elisabeth asked me, "what is this song talking about?" Doing the best I could, I said, "this guy is just so happy that he is the master of his house, he likes being in charge" to which Elisabeth replied, "but I thought that the moms are the masters of the house!" I wanted to say, "yeah but we like to let the husbands think they are the masters!"

Noah has a problem picking his nose. It's more of a nervous habit, I personally think. But anyway it's been a topic of discussion between him and I. This morning he came over to me in a quite serious tone and said enthusiastically, "mom, I found something to help me stop picking my nose. I can just wear this all the time and then I can't pick it." Yup, son, you are right! You keep that thing on your nose and you sure wont be able to pick it!

Every Friday night it is 'pizza and movie night' at our house and this Friday was no different! Before hubby left for his deployment we were buying pizza's from Papa Murphy's for our pizza night and taking it home to bake, then after he left I was picking up pizza kits from Papa Murphy's for the kids to make at home, then when my brother and sister in law got here, my amazing sister in law started making homemade pizza from scratch. Now that they've moved out we've been left to our own devices! :( So we tried to get Papa Murphy's again, but come to find out, the one down the street has closed!! So we purchased the next best thing and ordered Papa John's for the past couple weeks. However, now with our new budget, I decided that I needed to figure out how to make homemade pizza. So I looked up a recipe for homemade pizza crust and pizza sauce and made pizza tonight. I was a little worried because I forgot that we didn't have white flour so I had to use whole wheat, but it turned out so yummy! Here are Elisabeth and Noah's pizzas.

Starbucks' whipped cream is my favorite ever. I go to Starbucks simply for their whipped cream. I'll order something simply so I can ask for extra whip. So a few months ago I realized I'd save a ton of money if I had a whipped cream maker. I asked for one for Christmas and got one! Unfortunately my sweet hubby didn't know that I needed chargers to pressurize the can of cream in order for it to work. He quickly ordered them and they finally came in today! Woo hoo! So first things first: I had to make salted caramel hot chocolates! Which meant I had to make caramel sauce first. But in the end they turned out amazing and well worth the wait!!!
